Запорожский путешественник развернул флаг УПА на вершине Килиманджаро (фото)

Путешественник из Запорожья Денис Якимчук встретил Новый год в пути на высочайший стратовулкан Африки. Килиманджаро находится на Северо-Востоке Танзании, высота над уровнем моря - 5895 м.

В зимний период выбор маршрута для трекинга и альпинизма ограничен, поэтому выбор пал на Килиманджаро. Восхождение Якимчук совершил в составе экспедиции из 16 человек в сопровождении двух инструкторов из известного украинского Клуба туристов "Кулуар".

Также, группу сопровождало 50 человек местного персонала: портеры, повара, сопровождающие гиды, - это обязательное условие для получения "пермита" - разрешения на восхождение.

Утром 28 декабря команда начала свой путь с высоты 2000 м, а 31 декабря в 23:00 выдвинулась на штурм вершины. Не обошлось и без трудностей, на высоте более 5100 м у одной из участниц экспедиции начали проявляться симптомы горной болезни. Денис принял решение помочь смелой альпинистке продолжить путь. К сожалению, девушка не смогла совершить восхождение и была вынуждена спуститься в штурмовой лагерь.

На высоте 5700 м симптомы горной болезни стали проявляться и у запорожского путешественника. Однако, не взирая на головную боль и упадок сил, он продолжил путь. К 6:00 альпинисты покорили вершину Килиманджаро.

На высоте 5895 м турист из Запорожья вынес красно-черный флаг, приурочив это событие ко дню рождения лидера украинского националистического движения Степана Бандеры.

Килиманджаро - не первая покоренная Денисом Якимчуком вершина, ранее он совершал восхождение на Казбек (5033 м), наивысшую гору Альп - Монблан (4808,73 м) и Кала-Патхар в Непале (5644,5 м).
